Saturn Retrograde Cycle 2016 – Fruition or Closure?

At 08:51pm this evening (AEST), Saturn passed over the degree at which he first turned retrograde (16 degrees 24 seconds of Sagittarius) back in March 2016.

Between now and 10th December,  expect something to be bought to either fruition or closure; something that was likely instigated, up for review or perhaps, even presumed finished during March.

The Saturn Retrograde Cycle is synonymous with experiencing hard work, delay and potential frustration(s).

Add to that the Saturn/Neptune Square of 2016 and it’s certainly been a year of restriction/disillusionment for many.

Remember to look at where these transits have been active within your birth chart.

Saturn’s Retrograde Cycle has covered 9 to 16 degrees of Sagittarius.Which house does that represent for you and what are the themes related to that house?

If a planet resides between 9 and 16 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) then it is likely that you were strongly affected by the Saturn (Sat On) energy this year.

Since the final hit of the Saturn/Neptune square back in September, it’s likely that you have been experiencing some forward momentum and with Saturn’s final pass over 16 degrees and 24 seconds of Sagittarius this momentum is now likely to ramp up somewhat.

The next four weeks will allow conclusions to be formed around whatever it is that you’ve been working on.

Add to this that Neptune is currently stationary and preparing to turn direct after a long retrograde period and you’ll be wise to remain patient (just a little longer).

Don’t try to push for those conclusions; especially if you’re still feeling vague/confused about your direction.

Tap into your intuition and have faith that they will come.

This can take place in two ways – fruition or closure, so over the next month note what appears –

Is all of your hard work and dedication now starting to bare fruit?

If that’s the case, remember to make time to celebrate and enjoy your success.

What has Saturn helped you to manifest within your life?

Alternatively, you may now find yourself saying goodbye to anything that hasn’t worked out – a relationship, a job, a project, an idea…

Saturn also represents our inner authority and sometime over the next four weeks you may just glean something of an increase in that.

Wishing you a greater sense of empowerment and a lifting of the fog,

Toria xo

Honouring the Uncertainty as we Traverse from the Old to the New – The Process of Awakening and the Fall Out from The Saturn/Neptune Square

Last night, I listened to a webinar that was run by a life coach.

In it, she said that one of the keys to a successful business (and life) was to understand your personal values and to set achievable goals around what you want in your life.

So, I sat down with pen and paper in hand all set to start.

But, I couldn’t write anything!!

And, that’s when it hit me – just how lost I’ve been feeling of late!!

“I don’t know who I am any more” I said to myself in the mirror.

In fact, it suddenly dawned on me that perhaps I’ve never really known who I am.

Blimey! That’s a tad unsettling, isn’t it!!

Probably not totally surprising, however, given that even my hospital birth tags read ‘Emma Coulson’ – a temporary first name and a surname that would soon be replaced by a different father.

Probably not a great start for a solid identity!

Have you ever tried to define yourself?

Not easy, is it? … or is that just my experience?

And just when I think I’ve got me all worked out I go and awaken to another level and there I am – lost again!

the-process-of-awakening-swimming-between-two-worlds-paid1So, last night I chose to honour my sense of disorientation and I let myself swim between the worlds of ‘the disappearing me’ and ‘the emerging me’.

I came to understand that I’m in the mush stage of the chrysalis – yet again.

The place that we return to time and time again on this journey of life.

I felt into some resistance and some sadness (around the parts of me that I don’t want to yet say goodbye to).

I realised that my six year old’s recent fear that mummy is going to die may be in some way true – but not in the way that he is fearing.

I took time to feel into the new me that is beckoning and from the little that I could sense I believe that she’s going to be good for me.

I’m still not really sure about who she is or where she’s going…

but, that’s okay too.

We’re in the fallout stage of the Saturn/Neptune square after all.

A transit that dissolves our sense of reality and last weekend’s eclipse, capturing the final hit of these planets, was powerful to say the least.

It’s a time for keeping the faith, honouring the process and taking every day step by step.

The clarity will come and until it does be gentle with yourself, be kind to yourself, be patient and keep the faith.

The Final Hit of the Saturn/Neptune Square – Loss, Confusion and the Necessity of Letting Go

The Final Hit Of The Saturn_Neptune Square - PAID

On Saturday (September 10th 2016) Saturn and Neptune will make their final connection within our skies.

I know!! I feel like whipping out the bunting and throwing a street party too; albeit with a sombre face and a downcast and exhausted-looking group of guests!!

It’s been a difficult year.

I’m all for looking at the silver lining and the higher meaning and yes, we’ll get to that in a minute, but I must confess on a personal level that this year has really felt like a serious stick in the mud!

So, if you’ve had enough of feeling pessimistic, lost, miserable, uncertain, overwhelmed, insecure, glum or lacking in worthiness (and possibly finances) take heart – you’re certainly not alone.

We’re also knee deep in Eclipse Season  right now so emotions may be coming up for release as we come to the end of this transit.

It’s a good idea to honour those emotions; even if their presence confuses you.

Let them come.

Tears can bring healing.

With Mercury retrograde in our skies there may be a pull to the past or a longing for days long gone; perhaps even grief and, for me personally, there has definitely been a connection with something deep and possibly past-life related that has arisen into my awareness.

Bernadette Brady describes this particular group of eclipses as being: “about realism, a coming down to earth … a constructive time for tackling the truth” so it’s unlikely to be all parties and high-fives for a while yet, but realism is necessary.

Yes, I know, I want to stand in line chanting “Bring Back The Unicorns” too.

Too much reality really can feel bleak!!!, but remember it’s how we react to and deal with what is thrown at us that finally defines its affect on us.

The Saturn/Neptune square may have bought many of us face to face with previously unprocessed emotions; perhaps around lack or loss.

And, if you are someone that likes to feel that you are in complete control of your life, 2016 is likely to have shaken some of that belief.

Do you feel that the foundations of your life are shifting; like sand sifting through an hourglass as Old Father Time continues to tick?

The process of “letting go and letting God” along with simply surrendering to “what is” has been a necessity.

I chose to keep things simple this year and to take one day at a time; to connect with the present moment whenever I found myself down a deep hole.

In fact part of my lesson was in realising just how hard I can be on myself and how I really need to lighten up and open to some serious daily joy again!!

Yes, perhaps the silver lining of 2016 is to help us all to remember that life can be hard and it can be harder still if we choose to make it so on ourselves.

As a strongly Saturnian person, I am thankful to Neptune for loosening up a few of those Saturn reigns of control and austerity.

I’ve also been mindful of what has come up with regards to my emotional, psychological and physical health during this transit.

Feelings of shame, unworthiness, lack, depression, powerlessness (a bit of Mars retrograde thrown in there – let’s not forget that we’ve only just come through that one too!!), a re-visit from Psoriasis whilst I was undertaking a detox and an eye-opener to some base and sacral chakra issues that have been requiring my attention.

I have chosen to withdraw when needed, to seek healing and to be gentle and patient with myself.

I think it’s working and I have even found myself belly laughing again at the most simple things in life – hurrah!!

Who doesn’t love a good belly laugh?

There is still work to be done – we can thank Saturn for that, but without that work, what would go unseen within our foundations?

How much greater would the damage be if we carried on unaware and did not periodically meet with years like this?

I’ve also learnt how resilient I can be and how I can still play the victim card when that resilience starts to meet (what I feel is) its full quota.

In all, I believe that 2016 has humbled me (not in a debasing nor degrading way), but in the positive sense and that is something to bow down to Lord Saturn for.

So of course, the silver lining is the blessing of insight into where you have been blissfully avoiding the truth of your reality.

Some of that insight may be a hard pill to swallow, but some of it may have come in surprising (and even joyful) realisations.

The question now is: “What are you going to do about it?”

The final square of Saturn and Neptune will take place at 05:28pm 10th September 2016 (AEST), so expect the energy to gradually wane from this point onward.

Saturn will re-pass the point at which he previously turned retrograde (earlier in the year) on November 19th when something could come to fruition or to a close.

Neptune, still travelling “seemingly” backwards, will not clear his current retrograde cycle until mid-March 2017; passing the point of his final hit with Saturn late January 2017 and, after which, a new found clarity may present along with a potential re-emergence or a re-birth depending on the depth of healing that one has undertaken.

A Time to Trust, To Be Love & To Re-Dream the Dream

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us…

How are you going today?

If you’re going like anyone else I’ve spoken with lately then you may have been finding things rather tough.

Especially this last week or so and there’s a reason for that.

The current Cosmic line up is not exactly favourable for forward momentum, but I want you to know that it’s okay.

It’s okay to feel frustrated with your life, it’s okay if you’re feeling disappointed, let down and even downright miserable right now.

Feel it and sit with it, but please don’t give up and please don’t think that it’s going to last forever.

We have Mars (planet of action) currently sitting at 23degrees and moving ever so ever so slowly. He’ll stay at this point until he turns direct next Thursday.

That means that most (if not all of us) are feeling a little stuck in life right now. There can be blocks, frustrations and a sense of being held back and that can have us running headlong into dead ends and road blocks.

On top of that, we have just encountered the second hit of this year’s Saturn/Neptune square. The second hit means we’re in the middle of it right now. Right in the midst of a sense of lack, a sense of loss, disappointment, disillusion and perhaps even a sense of complete despair for some.

This type of energy can bring up depression and a sense of powerlessness. It can have us questioning what we’re doing with our lives; whether the dreams we long for and wish to pursue are even valid any more and are we ridiculous for even aspiring towards them?

Life can feel grim and rather like a Charles Dickens novel at such times, but you know what? There is always a purpose.

This energy can teach us a great deal if we really take the time to slow down and to take it all in.

Here are my tips on how to get through:

  • First and Foremost – Keep it simple. Simplify your life and take it day by day. Be patient…
  • If you are meeting with frustration, just stop for a while and breathe. Take some time out…
  • Spend time in nature – get outside (in the Sun, if that’s possible). Sit by trees, play ball in the park, listen to the birds, walk by the Ocean…
  • Notice what you feel is dismal about your life – where are you frustrated? What do you dislike? Write it down on your ‘I’d love to change’ list…
  • Notice what you love about your life – where do you feel that things are working really well? What brings you joy in your life? Write it down on your “I am immensely grateful for” list…
  • Now write out what you’d love to bring into your life. Perhaps create a manifestation board. Again, I recommend keeping it simple. Start with the easy wins. You can create a manifestation board by using an A3 piece of cardboard. Glue images on the card of what you’d like to bring into your life. If you’re Arty, really go to town and get creative with it. Enjoy the process. Allow yourself to dream. Allow yourself to literally re-dream the dream and to reconnect with who you are. What do you actually want from your life?..
  • Mars is on Scorpio 24: “Crowds Coming Down The Mountain To Listen To One Inspired Man” so do what inspires you. Play YouTube movies of inspirational speakers, Play loud music, dance…
  • In keeping with the previous point, stay away from the TV and the News if you feel that it is pulling on your energy. Keep your vibration as high as you can and again, do the simple things that bring you a sense joy at this time…
  • Move your body. Walk (or run), do Yoga, Stretch, Create a Home-Routine of squats and window sill dips…
  • If you’re at home with youngsters, play active games with them and listen to your children giggle…
  • Watch an inspirational movie or, perhaps a tearjerker that enables you to let out any blocked emotion…
  • Stay away from alcohol and drugs, as these can further deepen those depressive moods…
  • Connect with family, friends and loved ones and enjoy an afternoon tea together…
  • Be There for Each Other…
  • Hold and Support one another…
  • Meditate…
  • Keep the Faith…

Once Mars begins to pick up speed (after next week), we should start to feel a sense that things are progressing a little more.

The final hit of the Saturn/Neptune square will occur early September.

That gives us 11 weeks to really work with it…

To feel our sadness, to confront our fears, to acknowledge our worries.

To let go of what is no longer working within our lives nor bringing us joy and to ultimately RE-DREAM the DREAM.

How about we make a pact? A pact that during the next 11 weeks we will:

Be Kindness, Be Love and Be unto Others What we would Love For Ourselves?

With that approach, who knows what changes we could bring forth over the next couple of months…
