Time to Relinquish Judgement and To Open to Optimism & Trust – Mercury Reverses into Sagittarius

http___www-motherearthastrology-com2

At 12:17am this morning (AEST) Mercury reversed into Sagittarius on his retrograde journey.

With Mercury currently disposited by Jupiter in Libra, you may now receive insights that enable you to reflect upon your relationships; family or otherwise.

Where do you feel stifled and uninspired?

Is it time to consider how you can rework your life to honour your desire for greater freedom, truth, growth and adventure?

What aspects need to be relinquished, restructured or at least reviewed?

With the Moon in Aries from 02:20am Thursday 5th January until 06:18am Saturday 7th January (AEST), be aware of situations that trigger impatience, intolerance, moralistic attitudes, self-righteousness and judgement.

Sagittarius energy has a reputation for being blunt and when coupled with reactive Aries energy, you may find it difficult to count to ten before blurting out a few “home truths”.

What are those emotions attempting to alert you to and what can you learn from them?

Perhaps there’s a need for more optimism, generosity of spirit and acceptance either of others or of self?

Perhaps there’s a need to let go and forgive and to remember that we’re all doing the best that we can with the life that we’ve been given.

How connected do you feel to your spiritual self, your inner guidance and your innate wisdom?

Do you feel a need to refine this connection or to re-examine your spiritual beliefs?

Mercury will turn direct on Sunday 8th January.

Until then, make the most of this time to redo your life; opening to trust and relinquishing fears and negative beliefs.

Think positive and get your optimism on 🙂

Any Communication Difficulties Yet? Mercury Retrograde – Plus Timeline

mercury-retrograde-timeline-dec-2016-jan-2017-capricorn-and-sagittarius

The week before a Full Moon can be a little crazy.

Full Moon energy can bring us face to face with the shadow side of our personalities.

It wouldn’t be surprising given the energy of this particular Full Moon, which falls in Gemini (Gemini is the sign ruled by Mercury) and the fact that we are currently in the lead up (the shadow period) to Mercury’s impending retrograde if you have been experiencing communication issues.

Mercury rules communication and his retrograde periods (when Mercury seemingly travels backward across our skies) can be synonymous with delays and communication mayhem, so be on the look out for what is arising around you and within you.

Of course, all of this does not just happen.

It is always a prompt to something that is needing attention.

Something that Mercury is showing to us from within our psyche that is asking us to take responsibility.

Mercury Retrograde works very well with ‘re‘ words.

Words like rework, renovate, research and Mercury often gives us a chance to redo what isn’t working so well.

Often we experience technical glitches and mix ups.

Cars, computers and white goods can all be affected; often needing repair or replacement.

And… it’s a good time to check and double-check; to reread and to review, so in the build up to Christmas make sure that you’ve ordered everything that you think you have – that it’s the right item, size and colour.

Mercury will travel between 15degrees and 17seconds of Capricorn back to 28degrees and 50seconds of Sagittarius during this particular retrograde.

Where does that fall in your birth chart? Which house (area of life) is up for review?

Do you have planets around those degrees? What do those planets represent?

The following keywords are from my Ebook “Introductory Tips for Astrological Self Awareness”, which you can download for free when you sign up to my Newsletter.

Do you have lessons to learn around any of these?

Sagittarius

Keywords: Optimistic, Traveller, Freedom-Seeker, Spiritual-Seeker, Religious/Spiritual, Expansive, Exuberant, Adventurous, Inspirational, Unrestrained, Intelligent, Spontaneous, Restless, Explorer, Outspoken, Extroverted, Boisterous, Aware of the Bigger Picture

Negatively: Blunt, Opinionated, Indiscriminate, Clumsy/Accident-Prone, Careless, Extravagant, Exaggeratedly, Unreliable, Self-Righteous, Preaching, Fanatical

Capricorn

Keywords: Serious, Disciplined, Responsible, Hardworking, Reliable, Structured, Resilient, Careful, Prudent, Cautious, Ambitious, Incredible Integrity, Self Sufficient, Respectful, Reserved, Honest/Law-Abiding, Honest, Enterprising, Traditional, Conservative, Enduring, Wise, Mature, Achiever, Appropriate Boundaries

Negatively: Burdened, Pessimistic, Stern, Mean, Narrow-Minded, Fearful, Guilt-Ridden, Opportunistic, Hard, Inhibited, Bound, Walled-In

It is likely that this particular retrograde will bring up a combination of themes across both signs. These themes are vast and it all depends on your own personal circumstances as to how this may affect you.

You can play around with the keywords and look at the examples that are happening in your life.

Combinations; such as given here in the following examples, may well be playing out for some and more examples can be found in my previous Mercury Retrograde posts on these two signs, which can be found in the ‘Related Posts’ section below.

  • Lessons around loosening what keeps us bound, so that we can open to more spontaneity and adventure.
  • A need to take more responsibility to become more reliable where we have previously been a little lax.
  • Communication problems that may stem from being over-authoritative and strict or that arise from judgement. Is there a need to be more open-minded and open-hearted and less critical?
  • Is more inspiration required? What has become dull?

Mercury in the Shadow Period – Mercury Enters Capricorn

mercury-retrograde

If you remember from Thursday’s blog post we are now in the shadow period for our last Mercury Retrograde of 2016 and at 07:18am this morning (AEST) Mercury entered Capricorn.

Mercury will climb from zero to 15 degrees of Capricorn before changing direction, re-traversing the same degrees and re-entering Sagittarius.

Therefore, paying attention to what arises between now and 19th December may help you to gauge what this particular area of the retrograde is going to mean for you.

As I pointed out in Thursday’s post, there is likely to be a correlation between this Mercury retrograde and the Jupiter/Pluto square that is currently traversing our skies.

That’s because Mercury will backtrack through both Capricorn (the sign where Pluto is currently resident) and Sagittarius (which is a sign ruled by Jupiter).

In this post, we will focus on Mercury’s journey through Capricorn, as that is where he is currently residing and it is whilst he moves through the initial degrees of this sign (between now and December 19th) that you are likely to start to encounter Capricorn-related mishaps that you may be re-visiting once Mercury backtracks through the very same degrees of this sign.

For information on Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius you can click here.

Mercury relates to the way that we think, speak, learn and communicate (in all forms – email, phone calls, networks…).

Mercury also rules short-distance travel and can be associated with siblings and neighbours.

So, when Mercury backtracks through Capricorn you may encounter one or several of the following examples:

  • Are you taking responsibility for all aspects of your life?
  • Do you go after what you want or are fearful thoughts holding you back from chasing your goals and honouring your ambitions?
  • What exactly are those goals and ambitions? Do they need a re-think?
  • Do you tend to pessimistic thoughts when you feel that things don’t go your way?
  • How controlling are you? Even if you’re initial answer to that question was “Not at all” pay attention over the next two weeks. Maybe you’re more controlling than you realise. Holding on too tightly to expectations can block the flow of life. Sometimes we have to relinquish a little of that control and trust that everything is working out as it should.
  • Do you do things out of guilt? If so, then maybe you need to rethink your relationship responsibilities and relinquish the ones that you’re doing from a place of self-condemnation rather than love and responsibility.
  • Capricorn is an Earth sign, so this retrograde could relate to the structures that you have in place within your life. Does something need to be more structured/better organised? Remember that organisation can actually allow for greater freedom within your life. What’s requiring rework?
  • Is something requiring more discipline or boundaries?
  • Mercury is strongly aligned with health matters, so watch for Capricorn-related symptoms and ailments, which may arise and see if you can find a mind/body or emotion/body correlation. Capricorn is associated with:
    • The Bones,
    • The Teeth,
    • The Skin
    • The Joints
    • The Gallbladder
    • Health issues may arise to highlight where you may be experiencing feelings of stress, over-burden or a lack of support. I.e. Depression, skin disorders, joint issues, bone disorders, frozen shoulder…

Remember to look at which houses in your birth chart that Mercury will retrograde through, as this area of life is likely to be most affected.

If you’d like help with that you can sign up for my Newsletter and download my free E-Book “Introductory Tips for Astrological Self Awareness”.

I’ll be sending out a timeline to help you track Mercury’s movements next week.

Until then, stay aware and see if you notice anything arising related to the Capricorn points raised here.

Much Love, Toria xo

Mercury Retrograde – You are now in the Shadow Period

Mercury Retrograde – You are now in the Shadow Period

mercury-retrograde

We have just entered the shadow period for our last Mercury Retrograde of 2016.

At 11:02am this morning (AEST), Mercury passed 28 degrees and 50 seconds of Sagittarius.

This is the point, to which Mercury will return on his next backwards journey before he once again turns direct.

Mercury will traverse two signs during this apparent-backwards journey – Sagittarius and Capricorn.

Interestingly, the energy of these two signs is also prominent right now owing to the Jupiter/Pluto square, so there is likely to be a correlation between what this transit is bringing to you and how our upcoming Mercury retrograde plays out.

For now, we will concentrate on his journey through Sagittarius, as that is where he is currently residing and it is whilst he moves through the last degrees of this sign (between now and 07:18am Saturday morning (AEST)) that you are likely to encounter Sagittarius-related mishaps that you may be re-visiting once Mercury backtracks through the very same degrees of this sign later in December.

Jupiter is the natural ruler of Sagittarius, so any planet in Sagittarius is currently disposited by Jupiter’s placement in Libra.

With Mercury in Sagittarius this relates to the way that we think, speak and/or learn, so we may be about to discover a few truths about ourselves. For example:

  • Do you tend to ‘shoot from the hip’ in your speech without giving thought to how the other person may feel? Do you perhaps need to consider being more tactful?
  • How do you handle delays and challenges as they arise? Fiery Sagittarian Energy is naturally spontaneous and optimistic with the ability to think on its feet. During Mercury’s backward motion through this sign you may become conscious of negative thinking or situations that trigger you to go into stress or panic. Are you being shown an area of life where your reaction (and not necessarily the event) is creating a depressive or difficult view of reality? Do you need to work on being more optimistic, more trusting of your life path and less controlling with regards to outcomes?
  • Fire is also representative of inspiration, play and creativity. If you find that you go through a period of feeling stagnant, joyless or blocked whilst Mercury is retrograde,  don’t worry. It’s likely that Mercury is showing you where you need to enliven and revive an aspect of your life. How can you renew your inspiration in this area?
  • There could be delays, confusion or misunderstandings in relation to a study course, your spiritual beliefs, long-distance travel or projects/work where you have neglected to check or confirm the details.  This Mercury Retrograde can highlight where we have tended to be rash or sloppy, so remember to check and double-check the details.
  • Believing yourself to be right (even when you’re not) and issues around judgement could arise.
  • Problems with Writing/Journalism/Publishing.
  • Mercury is strongly aligned with health matters, so watch for Sagittarius-related symptoms and ailments, which may arise and see if you can find a mind/body or emotion/body correlation. Sagittarius is associated with:
    • The Hips, Buttocks and Thighs
    • Accidents that arise from rushing around/recklessness/a lack of focus, so remember to ground and centre yourself – more speed, less haste – how balanced are you at the minute? Remember that Sagittarius’ ruler (Jupiter) is currently in the sign of balance (Libra).
    • Issues with the brain – Sagittarius rules the left hemisphere of the Cerebrum.

Remember to look at which houses in your birth chart that Mercury will retrograde through, as this area of life is likely to be most affected.

If you’d like help with that you can sign up for my Newsletter and download my free E-Book “Introductory Tips for Astrological Self Awareness”.

We’ll look at possible effects of Mercury retrograde through Capricorn later in the week. Until then, stay aware and see if you notice anything arising related to the Sagittarius points raised here.

Note what is coming up for you.

What message(s) 🌬 are you being given?

What needs re-work, re-vision or re-visiting?

This is a powerful time for meditation 🙏🏽and creative insights ✍🏽

Taking time out to rest 😴 can restore calm and lessen frustration.

With Mercury conjunct Venus and Jupiter today and forming an opposition with Chiron there could be lessons around use of words in relation to money 💸 and relationships 💏

Remember that simply moving the ‘s’ can make words your sword!! ⚔

Are you using your words for good or are they causing pain?

I.e. Are your words keeping you stuck in repeating negative patterns, are you engaging in negative self-talk or are you excessively critical of others?

💖 Use them wisely 💖

September’s New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Virgo – Time for Practical Solutions?

As Mercury brings unconscious behaviour_situations to light, what practical solutions will you put in place.png

August’s New Moon (also a Solar Eclipse) falls on September 1st, which is the first day of Spring for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere and of Autumn for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere.

A Powerful New Moon and a New Season.

Beautiful.

New Moon’s offer us the chance to set intentions for something new within our lives.

Whereas, Solar Eclipses tend to be experienced as external events, which illuminate an area of our life; bringing previously hidden/unacknowledged behaviours or circumstances to light.

For example, through events and/or people.

What will this Eclipse bring forth for you to acknowledge and in which area of your life is it falling?

Look for where 9 degrees and 21 seconds falls within your natal chart and check the house (area of life) in order to ascertain this.

If you need further help with this activity, my E-Book “Introductory Tips for Astrological Self Awareness” can help. You can claim your free copy here.

Bernadette Brady in her work on the Saros Cycles tells us that the energy of this particular eclipse is about truth; about getting real and seeing a situation for what it truly is.

If we choose to work with what has been highlighted it can be a productive time.

With all the Virgo energy in play at this New Moon health or healing could well play a part.

Virgo (also being a realistic sign) offers the chance to get practical with problem solving and you may find that others can help with something that may otherwise be a struggle.

The Sabian Symbol for this Eclipse/New Moon is: Virgo 10: “Two Heads Looking Out And Beyond The Shadows”

This speaks of ‘Two Heads often being better than One” when it comes to seeking a solution.

The Moon’s T Square with Neptune and the Saturn/Mars conjunction indicates that it may be important to get clear on what it is that you’re trying to achieve; to remain true to your own path. Therefore, avoiding the tendency to be swayed by others, lost in brain fog and getting nowhere.

Strengthening your intuition and connecting to your heart can often increase faith, clarity and ‘an instinctive knowing’ of which path is the right one for you; leading to focus and confidence in moving forwards.

Too much mind energy can cause procrastination and fear, so be mindful of needless worrying.

Mercury (still in his introspective phase of the retrograde) is ruler of this Moon and is currently on Virgo 29: “A Man Is Gaining Secret Knowledge From An Ancient Scroll He Is Reading”.

This symbol intimates that there is no rush.

Take some time out in reflection; to meditate, consult the signs/oracles/experts of choice; to research and perhaps look to the way of the Ancients if this is correct for you.

Is it time to step back and to do some more checking?

Are you gaining insight into previously hidden behaviour/patterns?

This is the point of Mercury Retrograde; not to simply frustrate nor delay us, but to offer us the chance to see what was hereto missed.

To re-visit, re-do and to tie up all loose ends, so that we can continue from a stronger, more informed position.

The opposition to Neptune hints at heightened intuition and this along with the trine to Pluto is a further reminder that it is important to remain in your power at this time, so as not to be swayed by others or to fall prey to confusion, imagined worries and/or doubt.

The Moon’s degree raises a point about tolerance and relinquishing the need to be right (which can be a Virgo tendency). Is it really worth the argument?

If we’ve never walked in someone else’s shoes then we cannot possibly know what is right for them.

Stay true to your own heart, your own path and keep the faith. We cannot know where it will lead, but it’s important to remember that life has our back.

It is the fear that arises from our own minds that can keep us held back or held in chains when we fear ‘the shadows’.

Remember to look for planets in your personal birth chart that fall around 9 degrees; especially of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces).

If you find any, then this Eclipse may affect you to a stronger degree and the actions that you take now could be life-changing.

It can also be enlightening to check your children’s charts (if you are a parent).

The New Moon/Eclipse will fall on September 1st at 07:03pm here in Brisbane (AEST).

Remember that New Moons are a great time to meditate, set intentions, plant the seeds of new beginnings and to cleanse your crystals.
