Supporting those experiencing domestic violence (Sharing an excerpt from last week’s newsletter with you)

The weekend before last, I was lucky to attend a movie night with some friends.

The movie night was a way to raise money for “Share the Dignity”, which is a charity that aims to provide homeless shelters and domestic violence refuges with sanitary pads and tampons to ensure that women experiencing domestic violence do not have to suffer the indignity of choosing between the purchase of food and the purchase of sanitary items.

It’s something that many of us have never even thought about, I’m sure.

I had the most beautiful night surrounded by loving and supportive women.

As most of us were school mums the movie (Mother’s Day) was a great choice and I felt extremely nurtured and cared for as our food and drink orders were delivered throughout the movie for us to enjoy. Thanks to Blueroom Cinebar.

The night was a huge success and I would like to introduce you to the gorgeous, heart-centred fund-raiser who created this particular event and who made the night so special.

You can like Bec’s Facebook page here and visit her website by clicking here.

Bec has been a great help to me and is immensely passionate about her work. If you require advice on a craft project I would encourage you to look her up.

If you feel called to support Share The Dignity, you can do so by visiting their page here.

All profits raised from the night were donated to My Friend’s Place, which offers a safe haven for those leaving violent relationships and homes.

At times like these, I really feel blessed and I hope that anyone suffering domestic violence (male or female) knows that there are people who care enough to help them.

I had the luck of winning one of the raffle prizes on the night, which were beautifully presented by Bec (see picture) and my pack was perfect for me, as I won the ‘Mind, Body, Spirit’ prize 🙂

I’ll be sharing some information on what was in my prize pack soon 🙂
