Intensity Alert – The First Eclipse of 2017

Is it just me or have things become a smidge more intense since that New Moon silently hung overhead last Saturday?

If you’re experiencing:

  • Out-of-left-field events
  • Sudden happenings that force you to go over old emotional ground (that you likely thought had been dealt with and left in the past)
  • The feeling of being pushed to the limit with all that’s being asked of you
  • A sense of anxiety and/or emotional anguish

… then I’m here to tell you that it’s okay.

You’re not going crazy.

You’re just being affected by the build up to next week’s Lunar Eclipse.

Something is being pushed to grow and emotionally this can indeed be a stressful time.

Partnership issues and family matters can come to the fore during Eclipses; owing to the symbolism of The Moon (Mother, Home, Family) and The Sun (Father),  and we are often asked to let go of something – a pattern, a belief system, a way of behaving…

Before we can let go, however, we need to become aware of what has been buried away in our subconscious; literally swept under the carpet.

It can be an emotionally potent time.

By becoming conscious of whatever this particular eclipse is highlighting within your life and by choosing to take responsibility for healing it, however, you are gifted with the chance to release old emotional wounds and issues.

This type of release clears space and with this Eclipse falling on the North Node, it is a harbinger for possible growth and expansion.

So, in short, it’s time for a clear out.

The type of clear out that allows the new to enter your life…

… But!! this will not happen without your awareness and your willingness to own the issue and to deal with it in the most conscious way that you can.

So, be brave and be honest with whatever appears to you at this time and also – be grateful, because by working through this, you may just make some room for something greater to enter your life.

Bernadette Brady writes in her book “The Eagle and The Lark” that this particular Eclipse belongs to “a family of eclipses that brings with it the element of pleasant surprise. Sudden happiness, a joyful event, the lucky break, the lucky win. The Events which will be occurring … can positively change the person’s life”.

If you’re having a week like mine then that may be difficult to see right now, but if my life experience to date is anything to go on then every cloud really does have a silver lining, so I’m hedging my bets and staying positive.

Especially so, as the eclipse chart holds a Yod, which can also be an indicator for powerful change.

Remember to look where this eclipse falls in your birth chart to see the area of your life that is likely to be affected.

Look for 22 degrees and 28 seconds of Aquarius (the Sun’s position) and 22 degrees and 28 seconds of Leo (the Moon’s position).

What are the themes of the houses that they fall across?

If you need help with understanding this, you can subscribe to my Newsletter and receive a free copy of my E-Book “Introductory Tips for Astrological Self Awareness”.

If the Eclipse falls within 2 degrees of a natal planet, then you are likely to be strongly affected by it. Look especially for 22 degrees and 28 seconds of the fixed signs (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio).

Wishing you illumination, healing, an upturn and a positive outcome.

Much Love, Toria xo

What has Bloomed for You? Full Moon in Taurus

Today’s Full Moon in Taurus signifies the culmination of all effort made since the last New Moon (October 31st).

What new beginning/intention(s) did you initiate back then?

Did you take action towards realising your goals?

If so, then what has bloomed for you today is a result of all your efforts.

Now is the time to bask in the light of The Moon’s fullness and to celebrate your wins.

Even if you’re not where you wished to be, I’m sure you’ve made some progress further along the path.

Perhaps just a knowing (or wake up call) that you need to follow through more during the next Moon Cycle.

Remember to honour November’s lessons and take some time out.

You’ve earned it.

Honouring the Uncertainty as we Traverse from the Old to the New – The Process of Awakening and the Fall Out from The Saturn/Neptune Square

Last night, I listened to a webinar that was run by a life coach.

In it, she said that one of the keys to a successful business (and life) was to understand your personal values and to set achievable goals around what you want in your life.

So, I sat down with pen and paper in hand all set to start.

But, I couldn’t write anything!!

And, that’s when it hit me – just how lost I’ve been feeling of late!!

“I don’t know who I am any more” I said to myself in the mirror.

In fact, it suddenly dawned on me that perhaps I’ve never really known who I am.

Blimey! That’s a tad unsettling, isn’t it!!

Probably not totally surprising, however, given that even my hospital birth tags read ‘Emma Coulson’ – a temporary first name and a surname that would soon be replaced by a different father.

Probably not a great start for a solid identity!

Have you ever tried to define yourself?

Not easy, is it? … or is that just my experience?

And just when I think I’ve got me all worked out I go and awaken to another level and there I am – lost again!

the-process-of-awakening-swimming-between-two-worlds-paid1So, last night I chose to honour my sense of disorientation and I let myself swim between the worlds of ‘the disappearing me’ and ‘the emerging me’.

I came to understand that I’m in the mush stage of the chrysalis – yet again.

The place that we return to time and time again on this journey of life.

I felt into some resistance and some sadness (around the parts of me that I don’t want to yet say goodbye to).

I realised that my six year old’s recent fear that mummy is going to die may be in some way true – but not in the way that he is fearing.

I took time to feel into the new me that is beckoning and from the little that I could sense I believe that she’s going to be good for me.

I’m still not really sure about who she is or where she’s going…

but, that’s okay too.

We’re in the fallout stage of the Saturn/Neptune square after all.

A transit that dissolves our sense of reality and last weekend’s eclipse, capturing the final hit of these planets, was powerful to say the least.

It’s a time for keeping the faith, honouring the process and taking every day step by step.

The clarity will come and until it does be gentle with yourself, be kind to yourself, be patient and keep the faith.
