Moving (ever so slowly) Towards a Way Forward…

We’re almost there!!

I know it feels exhausting right now, but we’ll be through it soon, so hang on in there.

Mars is currently travelling at his slowest ready to station (seemingly stop) tomorrow and yes, that’s having an effect on our energy levels right now, as Mars is the planet responsible for:

  • the way that we Act,
  • our Physical Energy (along with the Sun) and
  • our Assertion.

Add to that yesterday’s void of course Moon in Pisces and I think most of us were feeling pretty wiped out last night.

Over the last 10 weeks we have been given ample opportunity to:

  • Slow Down
  • Up Our Patience Levels
  • Reassess our Ways of Asserting for What We Want

and to meet with those parts of ourselves that are experiencing:

  • Frustration
  • Anger
  • Resentment
  • A Sense of Powerlessness
  • A Fear of Moving Forward

Some of us may even be experiencing the exacerbation of physical illness this week; forcing us to slow down further, in order that we contemplate how we are using our physical energy.

Are we using it wisely and making time for self-care or are we directing it all externally; potentially leading ourselves forwards into burn out?

Are we directing that energy into something that is healthful and in line with our true self/passions?

Add to this the Saturn/Neptune square that is currently in force (with both of those planets also retrograde) and it’s been heavy.

It’s been a time when we have been given the chance to glean what is no longer sustainable in our lives as well as the opportunity to confront those darker feelings that have been requiring our attention and subsequent release; such as:

  • Resentment
  • Past Hurt
  • Inappropriate ways of expressing anger…

Many of us will have connected with feelings of:

  • Disillusionment
  • Despondency
  • or Melancholy

over the past couple of months and the sense of frustration in knowing what needs to change and not knowing how to change it or perhaps, in some cases, knowing that we need to let go and yet not being able to.

When Mars stations-direct at 23 degrees and 03 seconds of Scorpio on Thursday 30th June at 09:39 am here in Brisbane (AEST) we may get a clearer idea/sense of knowing around that which is no longer workable within our lives.

For some, this may coincide with the ending of something – a relationship, a venture, an ambition, a way of life…

Remember to note where this point (23 degrees 03 seconds of Scorpio) falls within your chart. The themes of that house will be important.

Expect a reboot of inspiration and a renewed sense of direction to arise over the next 2 weeks, as Mars moves to trine the Sun on the 17th July; potentially directing us forward into a more suitable and sustainable future.

Now is the time to act upon re-doing/re-working all of those things that have been up for reassessment; to move forwards on those intuitive hunches and prompts.

Mars will once again pass the point at which he stationed-retrograde on August 23rd bringing this Mars retrograde cycle to its final conclusion.

 

A Time to Trust, To Be Love & To Re-Dream the Dream

How are you going today?

If you’re going like anyone else I’ve spoken with lately then you may have been finding things rather tough.

Especially this last week or so and there’s a reason for that.

The current Cosmic line up is not exactly favourable for forward momentum, but I want you to know that it’s okay.

It’s okay to feel frustrated with your life, it’s okay if you’re feeling disappointed, let down and even downright miserable right now.

Feel it and sit with it, but please don’t give up and please don’t think that it’s going to last forever.

We have Mars (planet of action) currently sitting at 23degrees and moving ever so ever so slowly. He’ll stay at this point until he turns direct next Thursday.

That means that most (if not all of us) are feeling a little stuck in life right now. There can be blocks, frustrations and a sense of being held back and that can have us running headlong into dead ends and road blocks.

On top of that, we have just encountered the second hit of this year’s Saturn/Neptune square. The second hit means we’re in the middle of it right now. Right in the midst of a sense of lack, a sense of loss, disappointment, disillusion and perhaps even a sense of complete despair for some.

This type of energy can bring up depression and a sense of powerlessness. It can have us questioning what we’re doing with our lives; whether the dreams we long for and wish to pursue are even valid any more and are we ridiculous for even aspiring towards them?

Life can feel grim and rather like a Charles Dickens novel at such times, but you know what? There is always a purpose.

This energy can teach us a great deal if we really take the time to slow down and to take it all in.

Here are my tips on how to get through:

  • First and Foremost – Keep it simple. Simplify your life and take it day by day. Be patient…
  • If you are meeting with frustration, just stop for a while and breathe. Take some time out…
  • Spend time in nature – get outside (in the Sun, if that’s possible). Sit by trees, play ball in the park, listen to the birds, walk by the Ocean…
  • Notice what you feel is dismal about your life – where are you frustrated? What do you dislike? Write it down on your ‘I’d love to change’ list…
  • Notice what you love about your life – where do you feel that things are working really well? What brings you joy in your life? Write it down on your “I am immensely grateful for” list…
  • Now write out what you’d love to bring into your life. Perhaps create a manifestation board. Again, I recommend keeping it simple. Start with the easy wins. You can create a manifestation board by using an A3 piece of cardboard. Glue images on the card of what you’d like to bring into your life. If you’re Arty, really go to town and get creative with it. Enjoy the process. Allow yourself to dream. Allow yourself to literally re-dream the dream and to reconnect with who you are. What do you actually want from your life?..
  • Mars is on Scorpio 24: “Crowds Coming Down The Mountain To Listen To One Inspired Man” so do what inspires you. Play YouTube movies of inspirational speakers, Play loud music, dance…
  • In keeping with the previous point, stay away from the TV and the News if you feel that it is pulling on your energy. Keep your vibration as high as you can and again, do the simple things that bring you a sense joy at this time…
  • Move your body. Walk (or run), do Yoga, Stretch, Create a Home-Routine of squats and window sill dips…
  • If you’re at home with youngsters, play active games with them and listen to your children giggle…
  • Watch an inspirational movie or, perhaps a tearjerker that enables you to let out any blocked emotion…
  • Stay away from alcohol and drugs, as these can further deepen those depressive moods…
  • Connect with family, friends and loved ones and enjoy an afternoon tea together…
  • Be There for Each Other…
  • Hold and Support one another…
  • Meditate…
  • Keep the Faith…

Once Mars begins to pick up speed (after next week), we should start to feel a sense that things are progressing a little more.

The final hit of the Saturn/Neptune square will occur early September.

That gives us 11 weeks to really work with it…

To feel our sadness, to confront our fears, to acknowledge our worries.

To let go of what is no longer working within our lives nor bringing us joy and to ultimately RE-DREAM the DREAM.

How about we make a pact? A pact that during the next 11 weeks we will:

Be Kindness, Be Love and Be unto Others What we would Love For Ourselves?

With that approach, who knows what changes we could bring forth over the next couple of months…

 

Raw Chocolate Avocado Cake with Vanilla Bean Maple Cashew Cream **Variation: with Organic Mixed Berries**

Raw Chocolate Avocado Cake with Vanilla Bean Maple Cashew Cream

 A few years back I went on a retreat and was first introduced to chocolate avocado cake 😋

The chef was kind enough to share the recipe with us when we left 🙏🏻

I’ve adapted it slightly over time.

Here’s my favourite raw version of the cake with vanilla bean, maple cashew cream 💞

Perfect for Friday’s 🍰, chocolate cravings and afternoon tea 💝

 

 

 

Chocolate Avocado Cake with Mixed Berries

You can also make this delicious variation, which is the same cake with some extra Coconut added to the topping and a final layer of Organic Mixed Berries.

 

 

 

The Recipe:

  1. The Base:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Macadamias (whizzed in blender to be very finely chopped),
  • 8 Medjool Dates (pitted),
  • 1 cup Shredded Coconut

Method

  1. Blend all ingredients together and press into cake tin.

 

2) Topping:

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Finely Blended Macadamia Nuts,
  • 2 Large Ripe Avocados,
  • 3 heaped tablespoons Cacao Powder,
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Maple Syrup (more can be added if you like yours sweeter),
  • 1/4 cup Macadamia Oil
  • **For the Mixed Berry Variation: I add 1/2 cup of Shredded or Desiccated Coconut to the Topping ingredients Before Blending (optional).

 

Method

  1. Blend until Fully Combined and Spread over the Base.
  2.  **Optional For Mixed Berry Variation: Place a Selection of Washed Organic Berries on the Cake**.
  3. Place in fridge until served.

 

3) The Cream:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cashews (soaked over night in filtered water),
  • 1/4 cup Nut Milk, Soy Milk or Rice Milk,
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup,
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste

Method

  1.  Blend with hand blender until Smooth and Creamy. Add more Milk if required 😉
  2. Serve cold with Avocado Cake
