and with it we enter …  Eclipse Season

Our second Full Moon of 2018 falls in the sign of Leo and, as a Total Lunar Eclipse, it marks the beginning of our first Eclipse season of the year.

Belonging to Saros Series 1 South, Bernadette Brady tells us that this eclipse is part of a family (of Eclipses) “concerned with ideas and their enthusiastic expression”.

How lovely that this particular Full Moon falls in the sign of Leo then – a sign all about self expression and with the Moon in this sign – a need to shine your light.

Brady goes on to say that “if this eclipse affects your chart, you will be flooded with ideas or options. There may seem to be an element of haste, but if you go with the new ideas, they will have positive outcomes”.

Remember to check the degrees of the eclipse and its possible interaction with your personal chart. The details for doing this are found further down in this report – see “Which area of your life is likely to be affected by this Full Moon?” below.

Pay particular attention to your thoughts and feelings around this Eclipse, as Lunar Eclipses tend to begin on an internal level and what we do with those thoughts and feelings can bring about changes within our lives.

The Need to be Seen

As this is a North Node Eclipse with the North Node falling in Leo, you may feel the need to share more of who you truly are with others and your actions may lead to some kind of increase in your being able to do this.

The build up to this Full Moon could, therefore find you pondering questions; such as:

  • Why am I really here?
  • What and how would I like to create?
  • What special gifts and talents do I bring to this World”
  • How can I shine more strongly as the person I truly am?
  • Do I feel “seen”?

You are the star in the story of your life. What kind of book are you writing?

On the negative side, the lead up to this Full Moon could bring up emotions/feelings in yourself or those around you related to:

  • Not feeling special or unique enough
  • Feeling alienated and different
  • Lacking the courage to be yourself and stand in the full light of who you are
  • Feeling invisible
  • Excessive Pride
  • Overbearing/Bossy Behaviour

Is there something that needs healing here to help you to move forward?

Check in with your posture – Leo rules the Heart and the Back. Do you stand confidently with an open heart, shoulders back open and radiating to the World?

Posture can be a strong indicator of where something needs attention.

Plenty to Do

With Jupiter in square aspect to this Full Moon you could feel like you have plenty on your plate mid to late January.

Luckily Mars in expansive Sagittarius will also be trine the Full Moon bringing adequate energy to ensure that you have a chance of getting all your tasks accomplished.

And with Mars also in sextile to Mercury, this energy could well be directed towards ideas; with your mind likely to be more active now and more able to assimilate new concepts.

Growth and the Need for the Feminine

With the Sun, Venus and the South Node sitting together in conjunction, any relationship or anything within a relationship that isn’t supporting your growth could come under the spotlight now and your drive for space and freedom could be strong.

Venus has been well featured in our lunar charts this month and with Juno and Vesta (2 of our Goddess Asteroids) also conjunct Venus at this Full Moon, you’re likely to feel drawn to a deeper connection with your feminine side and to honour your deepest desires.

What has become too linear/masculine for you?

How can you bring more of the softer side into your life?

Someone from the past or something that feels very karmic could bring an opportunity for growth and transformation and this this is a great time to consider joining a group – perhaps one that is fitness or health based; such as Yoga.

The Need and Desire for Pleasure and Space

It’s important to make time for play now and to up your enjoyment of life.

All work and no play will lead to far too much dull!! Blah!!

Leo wants sparkle and frivolity and now that the Capricorn energy has lessened somewhat, I’m sure we’re all going to be wanting a little of that, so schedule some fun days in your calendar and lighten the load.

Saturn and Mercury in Capricorn will continue to instil a sense of discipline and the need for structure and routine – why not schedule some rest time into that routine….

Rest allows space and space allows for change, intuitive connection and for something new to form.

The Moon’s inconjunct to Neptune is bringing the opportunity to strengthen that intuition along with compassion, softness and the desire for connection and Mars semi-square to Pluto brings the desire to connect more intimately.

Eclipse energy can feel intense so be kind to yourself and others.

Maybe accept (or create) a social invitation and (in the words of Marvin Gaye) make some time to get it on.

Are you Taking Responsibility for the Life You’re Manifesting? – New Moon in Capricorn 2018

New Moon in Capricorn - Taking Responsibility for the Life youa are Manfesting

Taking Responsibility for your Life

So how has 2018 begun for you?

What about your World is an authentic expression of you and what feels off?

With so many planets lined up in Capricorn at this New Moon the message is that it’s time to take responsibility for the creation of an authentic life; one that is aligned with your heart, your true desires and your values.

Discipline, Commitment and the Ability to Move a Mountain (or two!!)

Capricorn energy bestows discipline and commitment and if there’s a dynamic duo that’s going to help you change the way things are right now you couldn’t ask for much more than them.

Add time, ambition and stamina into the mix and you’ve got a formula to help you climb any mountain worth the effort – like the symbol of this capable sign (The Goat).

Capricorn is also about structure, order and routine and it’s one of the ironies in life that without these you cannot have true spontaneity nor freedom.

Life is about polarities and balance after all.

Bringing the Dream to Life

With Venus, Mercury, The Sun, The Moon, Pluto and Saturn all in this hardy sign it’s time to get serious when it comes to transforming what you see; especially with Saturn strong in his own sign for the next two years – see my post on that here 😉

And with Uranus still in separating square to Pluto and plugging into this New Moon you’re likely ready for a strong change right now – at least in one aspect of your life if not several.

Neptune in semi-square to the New Moon is a reminder of the vision that you’d like to breathe life into and Capricorn offers a sense of containment within which to give form to those dreams of yours.

But…. like all things worth going after it’s likely going to take some effort.

What Lies Beneath

Mars is still travelling in conjunction with Jupiter (both in Scorpio) pushing for some deep soul searching, for the unburying of some deep inner truths and the ultimate reclamation of your empowerment.

You cannot change your life without having a deep, dark, honest look at what already is – think wallpaper and cracks, heads buried in the sand, brushes sweeping messes under rugs…

If you find yourself living a life of drama then the first thing you need to do is to claim it and to really look at it – full in the face.

It’s time to take responsibility for all that is happening around you and to look at how you may be contributing to it.

Is it a behaviour pattern, a perception, an attitude?

Perhaps stronger boundaries are needed?

What small steps can you begin taking to take to disentangle yourself from it?

Thankfully, Mars with Jupiter also bestows an energy increase, so we’re all being helped along a little there!!

If ‘no time’ is a frequent excuse that you use, I urge you to look a little closer at that ‘reason’.

Why are you really holding back from going after what you want?

Relationships – What’s not working?

With Venus square to Uranus at this New Moon, relationships could well come under fire – be it partnerships, family or business connections.

Be on the look out for irritations and flair ups. They may just be indicators of what you don’t want in your life.

What will you no longer stand for?

Uranus’ inconjunct to Mars hints at searching out some creative and innovative solutions.

Uranus in Aries wants sudden change (perhaps a revolution in some cases) and it wants that change right now, but the way to that change is likely going to involve a confrontation with the Underworld and the unearthing of some psychological mess.

If adjustment is necessary, don’t let the fear of a difficult conversation or action stop you from stepping up.

It will be worth it in the end.

Catch Points and the Need to Speak your Truth

All signs have their negative sides and with Capricorn energy it’s important to look at where fear, guilt or an attitude of it all being too hard may be holding you back.

When we are called to speak our truth it can bring up all kinds of gnarly scenarios, emotions and conversations, but if we can bravely ask for what we want in life the end result is usually a much more fulfilling life.

This is not the month to continue to put up and shut up and, as I alluded to in last month’s New Moon post “Feel the Fear… and Do it Anyway” –

What’s the alternative?

… Stagnation, going round in circles, living in fear, disempowerment and feeling like you’re living a life of which you have no control over.

Now, in all honesty, what’s more scary?

As someone who embraces change and self-development as essential to manifesting a joyous and healthful life for myself, I encourage you to take a deep breath and to dive deeply into making shifts happen.

Who knows where that brave step will take you and who you’ll be as we round out 2018!!

Respect of the Feminine and the Need for Self Care

Finally, with Venus and The Moon flanking the Sun I couldn’t complete this post without a mention of the need for and the respect of feminine energy.

Whether you are female or male, you need a dose of both feminine and masculine energy in order to nourish, sustain and function on all levels.

Masculine energy is outward, linear and driven energy whereas feminine energy is receptive, cyclical, soft and nurturing.

Whatever you’re taking responsibility for make sure that it also includes your own very important self care.

Balancing ambition and goal-crushing with good food, adequate sleep, rest and gentle sustaining activities are the way to keep yourself on track for the entire year.

Think of your life as a marathon, not a sprint.

Smell the roses, enjoy the journey and definitely make time for you, your loved ones and some fun!!

With this month’s full moon falling in Leo at the end of January some fun is definitely required, so go plan some dates in that diary of yours and this should mitigate the likelihood of you finding yourself all serious, uptight and overwhelmed by the end of the first month.

Needs, Nurture, Sustenance, the Urge to Care & Transforming Family Dynamics – Full Moon in Cancer

Full Moon in Cancer -.png

If you’d like to receive my New and Full Moon reports in your Inbox a little earlier each month, you can sign up to my Newsletter here.

The first Full Moon on 2018 falls in the sign of Cancer on 2nd of January at 12:23 pm here in Brisbane (AEST, GMT +10); indicating that themes of home, family, nurture and work/life balance are likely to be a strong as we usher in the New Year.

Emotional Sustenance and Nourishment – Home as a Sanctuary

What have the last two weeks bought up for you in this area as the Moon waxed?

  • Do you feel comfortable, protected and safe?
  • Is your home a place of sanctuary and belonging?
  • Are you emotionally supported and do you emotionally support others?
  • How do you nourish and emotionally sustain yourself and those within your care?
  • Do you look after your own needs first ensuring that you can provide from a place of fulfilment and balance or do you let other’s needs take precedence and end up depleted and exhausted?

With so much fire energy present as we rounded out 2017 this Full Moon may have seen you or others experiencing a sense of burn out…

… especially if listening to the needs of the body is not something that you’re inherently good at.

If this happened for you, then this Full Moon may just be the wake up call you need to mitigate the chances of this happening in the future.

Increased Self Awareness of Your Needs

That’s because, this Full Moon chart carries a beautiful water Grand Trine, stabilised by the Sun in Capricorn indicating that there is potential for increased inherent awareness of your own and other’s needs right now.

As well as the ability to take responsibility for those needs.

With the Sun flanked by both Pluto and Venus, you may instinctively find yourself tuning in to what changes are required within your relationship(s); including your relationship with yourself –

… especially if you have been giving far too much of yourself and not taking the time to re-fill your own cup.

Be it at work, within your family relationships or within your social circle.

Now is a good time to come home to yourself and to set some strong disciplines in place to ensure that you look after yourself and cater adequately to your emotional self throughout 2018.

You are likely to feel an increase in sensitivity and compassion now and may find that your psychic insight is strong.

Be gentle with yourself if you are experiencing difficulty, take it one day at a time and know that you can change your life.

That psychic energy can really help to see below the surface of any issues and to get a feel for what’s really going on; either personally or with others close to you.

Nurturer vs. Provider and the Strong Push to Care for Others

When the Full Moon falls in Cancer, the chart axis related to work and home is highlighted.

Both are necessary areas of life with Capricorn (father energy) being the sign of the provider and Cancer (mother energy) being the sign of the home-maker and nurturer.

Perhaps the Full Moon bought up something in relation to your work/life balance?

With this energy increasing over the Christmas period the need to be home and nurturing your family (or yourself) may have conflicted with work demands and the necessity of providing.

How can you balance these two seemingly opposing forces and create a work/home life that suits you and your family dynamic?

Inspired Ideas/Change is in The Air

Uranus is set to station and turn direct on the day of this Full Moon in trine to now-direct Mercury in Sagittarius, so there is potential for an over-active mind, inspired ideas, intuitive insights and broken sleep.

Rebellion and Change are in the air and you are likely to find yourself needing to breathe new life into your World.

With Uranus trine to Saturn this is unlikely to be shocking or sudden, but instead a desire for change has been stirring for some time within you and something that you now feel you can action – again, what do you most need right now?.

Perhaps now is the time to start taking action towards those New Moon goals, which you set at the end of last year?

There is plenty of Earth energy available in this Full Moon chart to help set you on the path to manifesting those changes.

When strong in our skies, Uranus can wreak havoc on the nervous system, so eating foods that nourish this (see italics below) and taking the time to ground (walks in nature, earthy foods; such as potatoes) and connect with your breath (meditation, deep breathing) will all help.

-> Foods to Nourish your Nervous System (From Don Tolman’s FDR volume 3) –

Almonds, Applies, Blueberries, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbahe, Cantaloupe Melon, Cauliflower, Ginger, Lettuce, Pine Nuts, Walnuts, Watermelon

Transforming the Family Dynamic

If you found yourself experiencing power struggles over the Christmas period or perhaps you’ve connected with some depression or a lack of self love then please know that you have the power to change these patterns wherever they are playing out.

There are plenty of healing modalities around that help to transmute such energy; such as Bush Flower Essences or seeking the help of a gifted counsellor.

Working on yourself subsequently heals your family and has benefits for your children, who no longer have to carry those patterns.

If you’re experiencing relationship-angst with your loved ones then it may be to time to look into how you can transform this; perhaps through booking yourself into a retreat for some inner work.

With Jupiter continuing his journey through Scorpio psychological transformation is a big growth topic right now and we are all being encouraged to look beneath the surface and have a good psychological clear out.

Re-attuning to the Flow of Life

This is a wonderful Full Moon chart to help you to tune in and see what’s need to get you back in touch with the flow of life.

How can you make 2018 your most nurtured yet (in all aspects of your life)?

How can you move through this year with increased grace and ease?

Which area of your life is likely to be affected by this Full Moon?

Discipline is an Act of Love -> Saturn Moves into Capricorn. Where are You Going to Show Up for Yourself and Your Loved Ones?

www.motherearthastrology.com(12)

Yes, it’s time to discuss the very important word ‘discipline’ and that’s because Saturn has just returned to his home-sign of Capricorn.

The word ‘discipline’ often gets a bad press; seemingly going hand in hand with misery, austerity and pain, but today, I want you to look at it a little differently; especially, as Saturn’s entry into Capricorn happened in close connection with the current Sun/Venus conjunction.

I want you to look at discipline as an act of self-love, because really that’s what it is.

Here are a few examples –

1) If the provider within your home wasn’t disciplined enough to head out to work each week then you’d have likely starved by now, ended up on the street or been subject to some other form of lack within your life.

In this sense, discipline is crucial to your comfort, your security and your early sense of abundance.

2) If you’re moving to a healthier way of being, it’s discipline that stops you reaching for the doughnut

and…

If you’ve just begun a fitness plan…

… it’s discipline that sees you putting on your shoes and heading out the door (when you’d really love to stay in bed a little longer).

3) Remember that enormously satisfying feeling that you get when you achieve something?

Be it those diet and fitness goals, the successful completion of a project, that business launch…

…well, you couldn’t have done that without discipline by your side either now could you?

4) And… those children sitting like Angels at the table are sitting there like that because of discipline

Did you know that the word ‘Discipline’ and the word ‘Disciple’ both come from the same root word?

Seriously, that little nougat of knowledge changed so much for me with regards to the way I felt about disciplining my children!!

Out went all those visions of an uptight, strict authoritarian with a huge cane, who crushed her children with her harsh words (which can most definitely be a negative expression of much too harsh discipline by the way)…

… and in rushed the positive!!

The way-shower, who leads the way through her words and actions and puts healthy boundaries into place thus creating a harmonious home and family environment –

Ahhh (queue birdsong and peaceful music) 🙂

So in this sense, discipline helps to bring about more peace.

For example, the children that stay in their rooms and rest or play quietly after being tucked up for the night (and yes, I’m still working on this one too (sigh…).

Saturn’s transit through Capricorn over the next 2 1/2 years is synonymous with  increased discipline, often increased responsibility and the strengthening of boundaries.

This is a chance to move on from what’s not working for you in terms of what you have currently built within your life and to begin building foundations that support you to be your authentic self.

Saturn transits can initially feel restrictive, as we’re pushed to focus on what matters and to let go of any excess that is serving to distract us at this time, so expect to feel a little limited if Saturn contacts your chart at this time.

Trust that the work you are being pushed to do or whatever you’re being asked to let go of is for a purpose and that it will be worth it in the long run.

It’s a good time to say goodbye to those who are no longer supportive of your path and to seek out those who can take you a few steps further; teachers, gurus, wise elders, counsellors…

Where do you need some guidance and who can help?

Just ensure that the person you turn to is genuine and has mastered their own skills enough to enable them to pass on that wisdom to you.

Respect, dignity and honour are likely to become important and may be well-used words over the next 2 1/2 years – listen out in the media 😉 – and there could be increased concern for the elderly.

Your sense of ambition and your desire to achieve is likely to increase and this is a time to shoulder your share of the work load or ask others to do so if it’s you that’s being weighed down.

Saturn is really your own inner-wise one pushing you to be the best version of yourself, so why not embrace discipline as a way to watch your desired life unfold?

This is a time to work hard to manifest your visions, to build and/or to strengthen the foundations of your life around those dreams.

Saturn through Capricorn may initially feel serious and perhaps – if you’re having a strong transit – a bit like a slog, but if you rise to the challenge, the gift of this energy is wisdom, maturity and the ability to stand on your own two feet and to be your own authority.

With Capricorn ruling the teeth, the bone structure and shoulders, make sure that you’re looking after these – maybe through regular Yoga, visits to the Chiropractor and dental check ups (I love my holistic dentist)…

… and, watch for stress, feeling burdened and the feeling of life being hard.

These latter points are negative expressions of this energy, so it’s a good time to re-visit your perception of work and possibly seek out a gifted healer that can help you to move through these feelings.

Finally, with Saturn now back to his home turf, he is the dispositor of Pluto who is also currently transiting through Capricorn making this a powerful time for those willing to rise to the challenge and to take responsibility for any healing that needs to take place with regards to their psychological wellbeing.

Remember to look at where Capricorn sits within your birth chart.

Which area of life does that house or those houses govern an where are you likely to feel pushed to succeed?

If you’d like more help with looking at this latter bit, you can sign up for my Newsletter and receive my free E-Book – Introductory Tips for Astrological Self Awareness.

Now, go take responsibility for your life, your well-being and your subsequent transformation 🙂

How are you going to make 2018 your best year yet?!!

Much Love,

Toria xo

Transmuting Self-Sabotage, Contemplating your Vision and The Opportunity to Engage in Some Potent Dream-Seeding – The New Moon in Sagittarius

Release, Realign & Reignite(1).png

Sign up to my Newsletter here.

An Enthusiastic Build up

Our last New Moon of 2017 falls in the sign of Sagittarius and with both luminaries (Sun and Moon) and 3 planets (Saturn, Venus and Mercury) all aligned in this sign it can mark an enthusiastic build up to your end of year celebrations.

Sagittarius energy is bountiful, optimistic and generous and with Uranus in Aries contacting this New Moon there’s an air of excitement and a strong emphasis on the fire element; bringing plenty of energy, enthusiasm and motivation.

An Important Note on Grounding and Breathing

There is a lack of both Earth and Air Energy in this particular chart, so it’s important to look after yourself and your bodily needs this month.

Ensure that you are taking adequate rest, spending time in nature, eating wholesome nature-provided foods and that you are connecting with your breath – through deep breathing and/or meditation.

Air Energy reminds us that breath is life.

There is the potential for much inspiration and you will need to take adequate steps to ensure that you are grounding those perceptions by writing them down or creating a plan of action for how you are going to achieve them.

Earth energy brings the ability for Manifestation. Without it, it’s all hot air.

A Potent Time to Dream-Seed

These points are super important, as with the New Moon also conjunct the Galactic Centre (along with Saturn) you are gifted a fantastic opportunity to seed your intentions for 2018.

This year has marked Saturn’s (29-year) return to this point (Galactic centre) and it marks a pivotal moment for taking responsibility for the life that you are living.

Do you feel in control of where you’re headed and are you busy creating a life that’s in line with the truth of who you are?

… or are you blowing in the wind; living an out-dated belief system and feeling bound to others’ rules?

Do you wake each morning happy to be alive; feeling inspired, abundant and free to express yourself?

… In every area of your life?

Are you honouring growth, the in-taking of new wisdom and and the opportunity to be more of who you are?

Take Some Time to Journey Within

With Mercury still retrograde this week (until 23rd December (AEST)) and Mars and Jupiter forming a beautiful trine with Neptune in Pisces, you have a beautiful opportunity to do some soul-searching.

Meditation and tuning into your inner wisdom could bring powerful results.

Your inner wisdom knows what’s sincerely right for you and yet, how many times do you push on and ignore what your real (inner) self is wanting; perhaps believing that you cannot live a life in rhythm with who you genuinely are?

Why not use this week to take the time to sum up your experience of 2017….

  • What did you do well this year?
  • Which goals did you accomplish?
  • What were the highlights?
  • What are you grateful for (that this year has bought to you)?

Slowing down to understand where you’re currently at, what you’re grateful for and where you’re desiring change will help you to actively plant those new intentions for 2018.

With Venus also strongly aligned with this New Moon, it’s a great time to consider your values, what you desire and what will bring you greater freedom.

Setting Intentions that Align with your Vision

What does your future self look like?

What is your vision?

Which areas of your life are working for you and which aren’t?

With Mercury set to move direct on 23rd December, under the beams of our next Crescent Moon this is a beautiful day to make space for goal setting…

… focusing on what you’d like to birth during 2018 with your new found clarity.

If you’d like some help with pushing through on those goals, you can sign up for my Lunar Illuminations here and receive emails throughout the Lunar Month as we move through the 8 Lunar phases; understanding the best time to push & go and the best time to rest & slow.

Transmuting Self Sabotage, Moving Forwards Unencumbered

Jupiter (the ruler of this New Moon) is continuing his journey through the sign of Scorpio; travelling closely with Mars and bringing a strong push for a deep look-within.

And with Chiron’s contact to the New Moon, the need to acknowledge old wounds and patterns of behaviour that sabotage rather than support your growth is likely to be needed.

Seeking out a healing modality that calls to you at this time can ensure that you enter the new year less encumbered with old baggage…

… or at least that you’ll be on your way to a good clear out; making room for the new and all those exciting possibilities that could be…

Feel the Fear… and Do it Anyway

If you fear looking within and dealing with what you’ll find there, please consider the alternative – likely stagnation, going round in circles and the possibility of getting or remaining stuck…

Now, in all honesty, what’s more scary?

As someone who embraces change and self-development as essential to manifesting a joyous and healthful life for myself, I encourage you to take a deep breath and to dive deeply.

Who knows where that brave step will take you and who you’ll be as we round out 2018!!
